"Standard Tithing has always been 10% and we cannot afford to short change the planet and
future generations when it comes to giving
to our planetary collective well being."
10% For the Planet is in the planning and testing stages still but the basic premise is to create a new working model for bringing the new socially responsible for-profit businesses ('B'Corp & 'Common Good Corporations' and non-profit organizations with matching and complementary sustainabilty 'missions' together for a two-way partnership based on mutual endorsement and benefit.
Unlike the 1% For the Planet program where businesses give only a meager 1% to selected organizations of choice, businesses pledge 10% to a singular foundation that provides infrastructure grants to existing and developing sustainable communities who are a part of a global network of sustainable community (EcoVillage) development.
The participating business is then matched up with participating organizations to execute a partnership where the business becomes integrated as a full fledged "community member" with the organizations endorsement of the businesses services or products which are relevant to the organizations community of members. For example: Imagine the Sierra Club partnering with Seven Generations.
The organization is able to generate revenue from sales that come from their member base and websites using software that tracks activity and the business is able to place message images on the organizations website, be included in newsletter broadcasts, and any other event or activity that the organization initiates similar to the benefits of the old world 'sponsor' arraignment.
The business and the organization place their logos with back links to one another on their websites and a 10% For The Planet Logo that links to this website which showcases the sustainable community developments that their partnership has contributed towards. Website traffic flows between the partners bringing new members to the organizations and new customers or clients to the businesses.
If your business or organization is interested in participating and helping to develop this experimental new program please contact us for a program outline and more information.
